Day 120

In the beginning... There was an exercycle...

Then, came a pair of walking shoes...

Those walking shoes dragged me up the hill today as the sun rose over an ever flattening Christchurch City.

I have discovered a hill walk, that in the real world, is a 10 km round trip from home, up Rapaki Track to Summit Road, and then back down to home again. For those not terribly familiar with the track, the first 5 km feels like it's straight up - VERTICAL. It's not of course, but it is a 300 m plus climb to the road where I turn around, catch my breath, enjoy the view from Kaikoura through to Quail Island (in Lyttleton Harbour), then walk back down again.

So, today I am adding the 10 km to my Virtual journey around the country. While tracking this, I have discovered that I am not allowed to travel on the Hamilton/Auckland Highway. So, I've had to take a wee detour over to SH2. I am sure I will be back on track again very soon.

Oh, and for the statisticians - my total distance today, is 2963.66 km.
