Day 105

In the beginning... There was an exercycle...

And after another week where I found every excuse under the sun not to cycle, I'm paying a painful price.

The last couple of weeks have seen a lot of disruption in my personal life. One of my main "support crew" in my journey is out of circulation for a couple of weeks, and that has really thrown my motivation out of the window. I'm learning that I am a person who is not huge on change, unless I'm the one controlling that change.

So, while I've been confronting one area of my comfort zone, other areas have gone into default mode, and one of those was to become a couch potato rather than being a cycle nut.

I guess that when cycling becomes the default setting to me dealing with stressful situations, I will have succeeded in making cycling an everyday part of my life.

But enough about me!! Tonight's 45 minutes seemed to take a very, VERY long time!! And my distance was short too. I struggled to get to 25.36 km tonight which brings my total distance to 2601.34 km.

I am still tracking north, parallel to the North Taranaki Bite, but I am a way inland now, and there are hills and forests blocking my view to the sea. Tonight sees me between two towns in an area that has mixed forest and farming and the road is winding its way between the hills and beside rivers in the area.

Yet another pretty part of the country.
